catts with cat

cute kitten

Tim's sister lives on a dairy farm in upstate New York, a place someone believed was a good location to drop off a pregnant cat. The kittens came soon after and our nephew nominated himself the be the stand-in cat mom. When one of the kittens, Nickel, met an accidentally tragic end, Zach asked if "his" kitty could go live with Grandma to stay safe. So Butterscotch was a birthday gift to Tim's stepmom.

It's a good thing that I'm allergic, otherwise I think we would have ended up with a kitten too. This little guy was intoxicatingly adorable.

good show

ted leo at mccarren pool

We had some great show karma yesterday: were able to avoid the long line on the way in, got a free round of Brooklyn lagers, got seats to sit and watch the massive dodgeball tournament (left) while the music (ted leo, center) started, and then were able to walk up to almost the front row (tim, right) along the side of the stage. A very good day at McCarren pool.

with grace

gracie

I had to take dozens of shots of the triplets to get these few nice ones. There are so many more with eyes closed, fingers wiping noses, and blurs in the corner as they ran out of the frame. Gracie looks so serious in this one, but really I think she was just exhausted.

We're still recovering from the long, exhausting weekend: over 800 miles of driving, two very different but very fun weddings... and best of all, nieces and nephews (see above).

wedding-palooza

bachelorette t-shirt

While some of our friends, like Jer and KB, will be attending the actual Lollapalooza in Chi-town this weekend, Tim and I will be taking a massive roadtrip through three states, covering over 800 miles, and seeing many, many loved ones as we attend two weddings and a birthday/family reunion.

I made the t-shirt for one of this weekend's brides, my dear friend Jenna, who loved it in spite of my used of Cooper Black. She wore it proudly on her bachelorette night. (The photos of us posing like rockstars in a ladies room mirror that evening will go unblogged though!) Hoping for luck and lots of sunshine for everyone's big days.
