open space

pittsburgh mattress factory

One more of Pittsburgh, this time it's Tom, Jax and Tim inside The Mattress Factory, which had not only a really great collection, but also a fantastic space. I'm hoping to finish up the Pittsburgh set on Flickr this weekend.

fallingwater

fallingwater

We had to stop at FallingWater on our drive back from the P-burgh. The house was really incredible and the tour takes you through every room, letting you walk out onto the terraces and even step on the carpets. Frank Lloyd Wright was so meticulous about the details which made every corner of the house perfectly designed.

fifty-two hours in pittsburgh

primanti brothers attack

So we went to Pittsburgh on a whim this weekend. Tom talked us into it and luckily Jackie didn't object to spending their first wedding anniversary with company. Jer drove us like a champ in the Prius. Tim and I drank too much beer and ate WAY too many fries. So all in all a fantastic time.

This was our first real meal at Primanti Brothers where tomatoes, cole slaw and french fries come on every sandwich. Holy heart attack.

new pair o' specs

new eyeglasses

New insurance means new glasses. Thank you new job!

I usually stay away from these myspace-esque, done-in-the-bathroom-mirror, self-portraits, but hey... Every Day in May is all about new ideas. This will serve as a placeholder while I'm off on a roadtrip with some friends this holiday weekend. And hopefully shooting lots.

10 a.m., thursday morning

feet in bed

Because I'm still new on the new job, I've got to sit in on certain training shifts with other folks in other departments. That means today I don't need to be into work till 4 p.m. So I'm taking advantage of a free weekday... slept in and spent an hour reading in bed, about to go meet Jer in Prospect Park to enjoy the sun while he does some 86books.com work and then a lunch date with Tim in midtown. Woot!

Photo from yesterday's afternoon of editing. It was so much fun to play with iMovie and iDVD, which I haven't done in a very, very long time. Might be time to dust off the old video camera and shoot some stuff.

ted leo live

Camera phone shot of the marquee at Webster Hall tonight.

This is the end to a very long and wonderful day that reminded me over and over why I love living in NYC. Despite the title, I'm not intoxicated, but spent many hours doing fantastic things... Started off with bagels and The Times in the park, spend the afternoon with Jenny editing video on my new laptop, stopped by a Cinco de Mayo celebration on the rooftop with the E.12th St. kids and delicious homemade guac, followed by a fantastic Ted Leo & The Pharmacists show around the corner at Webster Hall, and ended the night at Adam's birthday dessert potluck back in BK and got to see Anna, in from London for the weekend.

Ted played an awesome, incredibly energetic show as usual. I was psyched to hear La Costa Brava, my new favorite, as well as Who Do You Love and The Unwanted Things. And when he transitioned Timorous Me into Walking to Do, I was a happy girl. Thanks New York. Time for bed.
